I'm Still Here.......

Sorry about not posting, worse than usual, haha. I had to evacuate my little rental cottage when Sandy decided to show, was 5 days before I could get back in and I got flooded. Fortunately my neighbors helped to lift up everything we could off the floors, but I came home to quite the mess with no power. Needless to say I've fallen way behind schedule.

Gobble, Gobble

Packing up for Rhinebeck. It's been a few years since I made any turkey's, so here is this years rafter. They are waiting for tickets and then into the box for transport.

Dyeing for Fall

I've had the dye pots on the stove for the past few days. Getting ready for Rhinebeck I needed to replenish what was sold at my last show.

I'm dying for some fall weather, too. October weather....cool and crisp. Instead it's grey and soggy and I can't stand it. I actually turned the A/C on to dry our the house. It's sticky and everything feels wet. They are calling for it to be 77 tomorrow...yuck.

Whoo Hoo..ready for flight

....Otis and Orville orders are done and ready to be packed and shipped. Then it's back to Scruffy and Ralph, the candy corn collector. Never too early for Halloween, I just wish the weather matched my frame of mind.

It's That Time of Year..........

Hazy, hot, humid.....and time for Halloween. I'm working on my 2012 collection but it's not quite ready for photos. I am a bit on the sluggish side since this nasty summer weather arrived. I'm tired of listening to the Air Conditioner and longing for a cold, rainy October day.

This is one of my Halloween circus pieces from last year....it's Darryl and Darcy the dog. I've a new member in the works so stay tuned.

Dyeing for Spring

The kettles are on, the kitchen is a mess. I'm replacing all my standard colors, getting ready for the show season. We've got Fairfield Rug Show this month, Ligra Rug Show the following weekend. Hallockville Fleece and Fiber Festival the end of May and then onto the Midwest Fiber Fair in June. I'm wishing for the warmer weather, who would have thought March would be warmer than April?

Hippity,Hoppity, Easter's On It's Way!!

This is the last box that needs to get shipped, packing it soon and making my 3rd trip to the local Post Office. I can't believe I finished the orders in a week, my fingers are ready to fall off. Some of the goodies were being reshipped....one group all the way to Germany!! What's next my sister asked? I'm going to pour an glass of wine and start cleaning my house....it's a mess.

Here's the latest pincushion for 2012. It's bunny time, I can't wait for spring. I also need to build my inventory big time....we have the Fairfield Rug Show in March, Fleece and Fiber Festival at Hallockville in May and a new one....Midwest Fiber and Folk Art Fair in Grayslake, Ill. EEK!!!

Another "Hookers" Birthday

We celebrate everyone's Birthday in our little group of rug hooking buddies. Last night was Mary's, (no ages divulged)and we celebrated at Kathy's. She made goodie bags for all of us, I made the cake....chocolate buttermilk with peanut butter frosting, Rose made a baked chicken dish and a salad of greens, walnuts, cranberries and goat cheese, Kathy picked up a loaf of Judie's French Bread and Steph brought a bottle of red wine. We had such a good time together,as always. We started laughing as soon as we sat down to eat and didn't stop until it was time to leave. A second bottle of red wine appeared and while I can't tell you what we spent the night laughing about, I can tell you my cheeks hurt by the end of the night. We get to do it all over again the end of February......I can't wait.
